Hydraulic Elevator
Thumb

A hydraulic elevator operates through a system that uses hydraulic power to move the elevator car vertically. It comprises a hydraulic pump, a cylinder, and a piston. When the elevator is activated, the hydraulic pump pushes fluid into the cylinder, causing the piston to rise. This motion lifts the elevator car, allowing passengers to travel between floors. The elevator descends by releasing the hydraulic fluid from the cylinder, allowing the car to lower gradually and smoothly. Hydraulic elevators are particularly advantageous in low to mid-rise buildings, typically up to six stories, due to their simplicity and cost-effectiveness. They are appreciated for their quiet operation and smooth ride quality. However, they require a machine room to house the hydraulic pump and fluid reservoir, which can take up valuable space.
